Tone Suppression and Noise Reduction It also attenuates unwanted signaling tones that may be inadvertently applied to normal monitoring channels. This tone suppression wipes out potential hearing-impairing test and interference tones in milliseconds. The DSP-8200d also provides bandpass filtering and noise reduction to reduce listener fatigue. An optional automatic gain control (AGC) adjusts the signal to a constant level. Each cardcage system includes DSP modules for 24 audio channels, two redundant power supplies, and a control module for system diagnostics, programming and monitoring. We also have a two-channel version for installation near the air traffic controller headset. The DSP-8200d now offers a Ground-to-Ground tone suppression mode that addresses the unique challenges of Ground-to-Ground circuits. It is available in our DSP-8200d Version 3.0 firmware. In this mode, we specifically notch certain frequencies that are the most common test tones while passing the signalling tones. This greatly reduces the chance of a "tone incidence" while using circuits where no solution was previously available.
