The dspstak™ 21369 family of DSP boards are high performance digital signal processing engines based on Analog Devices third generation ADSP-21369 SHARC® DSP. This SHARC supports 32 bit fixed point and 32/40 bit floating point formats with SIMD instructions running at up to 400 MHz. This translates to a peak computation rate of 2.4 GFLOPS.
There are two primary members of this family. Each board uses a 400MHz ADSP-21369 and include a 64Mb SDRAM, flash and eprom memory, programmable clocks, RS-232 and a choice of USB interfaces.
The ADSP-21369 has very flexible peripherals including up to eight independent serial ports (SPORTs), two SPI ports, TWI (I2C), and two UARTs. The dspstak™ Interconnect Port supports the complete DAI interface, SPI, general I/O, clocks and power connections.
Two different USB interfaces are available. The zx2 versions use a PLX NET2270 high speed USB transceiver and the zx versions use an FTDI full speed USB transceiver.
The zx2 USB 2.0 interface (high speed) is supported by Visual DSP++ 5.0 with high speed bulk and isochronous (audio class) device drivers for Windows 2000 & Windows XP. These drivers need to be integrated into custom application programs. You can also use the audio class driver just like a sound card or other USB audio device.
The zx USB interface (full speed) is slower but much easier to use. The USB port looks like a very fast RS-232 interface. There is driver support for most popular OS's including Windows, Linux and Mac. You can use a simple terminal program to communicate with the dspstak 21369zx including uploading application code to flash.
The heart of the dspstak™ 21369 is a Danville dspblok™ 21369zx DSP Module. You may wish to review the dspblok™ product page for more information.
The dspstak 21369 with ICE versions substitute the production dspblok 21369zx with a dspblok 21369+ICE module. This version is supported by Analog Devices Visual DSP++ 5.0. You can use the debugger with either an EZ-Kit license (free) or a full Visual DSP license. You can also connect an Analog Devices HPICE via JTAG connections.
Optional Accessories for the dspstak 21369 Family
dspstak DSP JTAG Adapter
Danville JTAG connectors are smaller than the standard ADI recommended JTAG header. The Danville DSP JTAG Adapter converts the Danville JTAG header used to the Analog Devices JTAG connector standard.
