The dspblok™ ps-uart Power Supply Modules combines a switching power supply and supports RS-232, RS-422 & RS-485. Power is supplied from an external DC power source (typically 9 to 12V).
Two different transceivers are used to support both RS-232 and RS-422/RS-485. The board defaults to RS-232 on power up. This allows the module to act as a programmer to upload application code to dspstak 21369zx flash. All you need is a terminal program.
Under program control, you can continue using the RS-232 port or you can switch to either RS-422 (full duplex) or RS-485 (half duplex). In an RS-485 configuration, you can take advantage of the ADSP-21369 uart's 9 bit mode for multiport applications.
